Do you believe what the horoscopes and what the description of zodiac signs say?

im just curious since most of the things they say are quite true (description i mean) or are those things just a coincident?

Many of the terms that are used to describe people born under a certain astrological sign are very broad. They use a large variety of very-different adjectives to describe what your personality may be like so that you can stretch it to your imagination that it fits your personality. I find that for many description of zodiac signs, cancer (which is my natural sign) fits my personality, but so do several others.

As for horoscopes, very broad actions are bound to be right every once and a while.

Spooky Ghost has it nailed - the stuff you read in horoscopes is so non-specific that you could make most of it fit whatever is happening to you at the moment.

For instance "You will go on a journey" - yeah, OK, where to? Work? Down the shops? Holiday? Any of these could fit.

Think logically about it. There are 12 zodiac signs - does that mean that one twelfth of the world's population will have the same thing happening to them at any one time? And, if horoscopes are accurate, then why would the same star sign be different from newspaper to newspaper?

it depends on who's writing them...since it isn't a cut-and-dried science anybody can say they can read the zodiac..but the point i wanted to make is the relationship between star-signs and personalities...classically, it is felt that the position of stars at birth determine personality, a typical cause and effect relationship...i see it rather more as the forces which guide the stars also guide our personalities, so that the position of the stars at birth may indicate what personality is going to be but does not of itself generate it,,,kind of like a sneeze doesn't cause a cold but is symptomatic of having one...

each zodiac have very distinct characters, people who say they are broad descriptions are just ignorant, or unable to grasp the big picture.

its your choice to believe it or not, Its worth a shot, I didnt believe it coz of some generalization that i read and what not.

I believed it coz ive proved it to myself, i dont really memorize all the zodiac dates before but i tried a little experiment. I picked out the Sun sign of my family members, I got my brother, my sister, and my mom right. first guesses! 1/12, 3x in a row? not likely, i just missed my dads coz he was a Taurus but he was pretty loud, thats when i learned that theres more to sun signs, theres 12 other placements actually.

I did those to my close friends as well and again I was right, and things made much more sense.

believe it as you wish but dont let other people make that decision for you, some people are just missing out, or just rejects the fact that somehow our personality are pre-destined, or that they have no control of their life, you only lose control if you surrender it. mostly they cant face the truth, coz its not always flowers and butterflies.

yes its the oldest still generaly accepted view. plus i can guess a persons signs with extreme accuracy you just got to know what to look for

Normally, I do not go by horoscopes. Everyday is supposed to "describe" how your personality is on but so far, not one has been true for me. I just go by astrology. Astrology actually describes each and every sun sign and their personality traits rather than just telling you "you will make great friends today" then tomorrow "your friends might back stab you". I mean, horoscope and astrology? Astrology anyday over horoscopes.

I deffinitaly do. A lot of people say that they ar not true but i think that those people are just un-educated about them. If you really learn that 12 signs you can see peoples signs shine through them.

My lover is astrologer say horoscope in newspaper and magazine fit anyone. He do more specific chart. He do mine this summer. He use time and place one born, so many more than 12 type poeple.

I surely do believe in mine. I'm a textbook Virgo.

So I'm gonna say yes and no.

First of all...as for horoscopes. No...never. I have never in my life read an accurate horoscope. Whether before the day or after the day. And as someone said earlier. The likelihood of the same thing happening to everyone born between x day and x day is HIGHLY unlikely. Day to day experiences vary from person to person regardless of sign.

Secondly, I agree that astrology is a guideline. But I can't say it totally affects one's way of life. I think other factors come into play, such as where one is from or other experiences that happened in a person's life which will affect personality. I am an Aries. Yes, I am a lot like what books say about me...but not to a tee. I can relate to qualities from many different signs. They say Aries people are extroverts and love to have the center of attention etc. Well...I'm not either. I'm the one that loves to be in the back of a room and I prefer to be home and cooking and cleaning rather than being out partying.

I own a restaurant and one of my delivery drivers is a Leo...he is the quietest person I have EVER met in my life. One would never guess he is a Leo from his humility and quiet way. I know a Virgo girl that loves to party. And I have 2 friends who are born November 3 and November 4 and they are NOTHING alike at all in any of the ways they behave.

So in saying all that, I believe in it to an extent but I believe nurture and circumstances shapes a personality on a higher level than what a zodiac sign gives to someone at birth.

i truly believe in then. and i don't mean the stupid vague ones that they put in the paper everyday. i've done my birth chart a could times, from different places, wonderin if i would get a diff. result each time. but no, they are wall the samn and and the all descreibed me perfectly. i just recently did one for my 4 yr old daughter, and found of a lot more about her personality, and things not being phases she's grow out of. now everything i get mad at her for taking things apart or just basically touching everything she can get her hands one. i figure it's the investigative side in her. and i also found so many similarities between her charts and mine, which is pretty sweet, almost lie rasing a mini-me.
