Does Susan Miller's Astrology web site, really accurate?

I'm a Virgo and after reading this months horoscope I think I may have a chance at something great...but I don't know.

Only believe what it is your heart tells you. But I know that site and I like it so.

I'm sorry to report that astrology is a really compelling con - if you give a class full of people someone else's astrological reading and tell them it's theirs, the vast majority will rate the reading as highly accurate or quite accurate.

This is how astrologers give the illusion of insight:

1) Vagueness: it's quite difficult to spot statements that could apply to anybody, or isn't very clear, and astrologers tend to make a lot of them.
2) Contradiction: astrologists tend to make statements that sound consistent, but are really quite contradictory, like "you're an outgoing person but sometimes you prefer to spend time by yourself".
3) People forget when predictions are wrong, or not very useful, but remember when they are accurate or useful. This gives an exaggerated impression of the quality of the information. This phenomenon applies to gamblers, criminal profilers, and politicians.

Finally, ask yourself what the mechanism by which the planets are supposed to correlate with your life might be? I can't think of a good explanation - the forces stars and planets exert are too tiny to measure, and there's no reason to think that even if they did make a large difference (like the moon making tides), that it would have anything to do with whether you have a good or bad day.

So what I'm saying is: please don't base any big decisions on astrology.

I have found her site to be pretty accurate. I'll tell you what I tell all my tarot clients take everything with a grain of salt. I hope the really great thing happens for you.
