Well, it depends on what is on the ascendent, what planets are in the first house, and how many there are. The Sun alone in the first house will give the person a good feeling of self-reliance and confidence. If that Sun happens to be in Leo, the person may be a little too self-absorbed and overly confident (egotistical) because it is just too much. If that sun has a lot of negative aspects, then it can actually be narcissism. Regardless, of what is in the first house, if there are lots of planets there, the personality will be prominent in the person's life and childhood will have been a very active time in the person's life with many childhood memories deeply impacting the adult's personality and behavior.
