Your "aura" is associated with one's spiritual well being. When you actually see an aura it's a subtle field of luminous multicolored radiation surrounding a person or object in the shape of a cocoon or halo. Don't worry, a gold aura is not bad! The color of a gold aura is of enlightenment and divine protection. When seen within the aura, it says that the person is being guided by their highest good. It is "divine guidance". Protection, wisdom, inner knowledge, spiritual mind, intuitive thinker.
The people who can see aura's are either very in touch with their spiritual side, or some people can be born with this "sixth sense". People experiencing epilepsy are also said to see aura's. Some people don't believe in this, but I've actually experienced this personally because I practice a form of spiritual healing called Reiki (energy healing). It's hard to explain this, because it's such phenomenal thing. I would recommend reading about it, as your trying to do. Also, indulge yourself in someone who performs Reiki, they may be able to help improve your aura.

I'm sorry I don't know of any websites. Many years ago, a woman taught me to read auras; I don't think there are any hard and fast rules regarding the relationship of personality to aural color, but I have personally found something interesting. One's aural color often responds to the color relating to one's Sun Sign or birth gemstone.
With your aura being gold, I will venture to guess that you have a positive, "sunny" personality. Are you by any chance Leo? Alternately, is your birthstone the topaz?
My own aura is blue-green, the color usually associated with my Sun Sign, Pisces. My husband's and sister's auras are both silver-grey; they are both Virgos and rather cool. My daughter, a Leo, has a light-green aura, corresponding to her August gemstone, the peridot. See the connections? :)
