Can anyone explain Pink Floyd's views and opinions on certian things on some of there albums?

like i no wish you were her was a tribute to syd barret, but for like The wall, and other ablums, what were they trying to say. I would really like to understand what they are trying to explain in the album Animals, i recently just understood that for the song us and them, it was about we arnt very different from the other people we are at war with, or anyone for that matter. but please help

Roger waters lost his dad in the war, (vietnam I think) but alot of it comes from his experiences and feelings as a result of that.

I don't think that Pink Floyd masks the meanings of any of their songs. Listen to the melody and lyrics and you pretty much catch their drift.

You use "Wish You Were Here' and 'Us and Them' as examples - what is so difficult to understand? 'Money', 'Time', 'Breathe', 'Another Brick in the Wall' - I could go on and on. The meaning is there for you to discover by merely listening.
