Jazz questions.? |
Hey, thanks for checking out my questions. Thanks Peace. Love. Seafood guy! It was Sunny Rollins. My jazz band teacher gave me the assingment to look up some of his work. 1. www.accuradio.com has a saxophone jazz station that you can listen to for free. I don't know a lot about jazz but I thought you might be referring to Sonny Boy Williamson, except he was a harmonica player! 1. Alright, go to www.projectplaylist.com and make an account. You can look up any song and add it into a playlist. It's a really good source. Don't forget Candy Dulfer.Awesome 80's 90's sax player. Log onto Amazon.com and find Gerald Albright playing "Georgia". It will knock your socks off. Don't forget: 1. get on to pandora.com, it's a radio station that tracks what you want to listen to, so when you're setting it up, put in names like Charlie parker, John coltrane, stan getz, courtney pine, charlie ventura, Vito Musso, to name a few, a little more modern, have a look at Dave sanborn, branford marsalis, and Michael Brecker, and Tom Scott, the sax player you're probably looking for is sonny Stitt. Yes, Sonny Rollins is who you are looking for. Also check out John Coltrane, Dexter Gordon, Michael Brecker, Joe Lovano, Stanely Turrentine, Stan Getz and Joshua Redman (for Tenor) and Charlie Parker, Cannonball Adderly, David Sanborn, Phil Woods and Kenney Garrett (for Alto). Here's a list of Jazz Saxophone artists that come to mind: dont forget dave Koz, david sandborn and Kenny G... little more modern, but still good players Here's a great tenor player on the west coast.. Mike Zilber.. He's a monster. Also, check out Bob Berg(he passed a couple years ago in an auto accident). Michael Brecker is another great player who is no longer with us. |
