Jazz Guitar? |
my guitar is a Lyon and i wanted to know if i could use that type of guitar for jazz Almost any guitar will work but most common are the semi-acoustics and in more recent times the solid body nylon string acoustic-electric or the new hybrids. It doesn't mater what your instrument is. As long as it's playable. If django played your lyon he would still sound like django. It's good to jazz. I played jazz guitar on a Fender Telecaster throughout my years of high school. You can play jazz on almost any guitar, but in order to get the right sound, you have to really work at it to find your niche. It took me four years of playing to finally get it right. I haven't played jazz in years, and I really wish I did. You don't need a Gibson ES-335 (my dream guitar) to play jazz, it's just the norm is the semi-hollow body electric. Never heard of a Lyon, but guitar should not matter. .It might affect the tone your trying to get,but the playing should not matter. Look at Mike Stern. He used a strat for years. I use a strat, tele and a guild archtop. depending on the sound I'm trying to get. Archtops are nice, but if it's out of your price range..just play what you have. Good luck. |
