I heard this song at Olive Garden --
It's an easy going Jazz song (sounding of the 40's but written more recently). It talks about
"daylight and dramour. Midnight adds glamour" "In the dark of the night (something) to the light"
The part I absolutely remember is when the male singer (the only singer) sings, "They come to listen, and dream."
The lyrics are about dreamers going to a place where they listen and dream at night. PLEASE HELP! It's a great song and it's driving me crazy! It almost sounds like the Matlock Theme except with a male singer. Same brassy jazz tune though. Dayton, yer killin' me! The MATLOCK THEME? Does anyone even remember that? Well, I do kinda - as I recollect, it was a sort of New Orleans/Dixieland-type theme, right?
Though I cannot find any references to the lyrics, it sounds like the kind of tune Chet Baker might have done back in the 50s. You might want to check out some of Chet's songs on your favorite site with music samples. Most questions of this nature I find are not even connected to jazz. Unless one heard the melody or the words are very familiar, very hard to pick a title. |
