I had various lps from a series called I love jazz. each had an artist or theme. The covers were grey with a inset picture of the featured artists with the I love (pic of a heart) Jazz. I think (but am not so sure) they were released through EMI probally during the 80s. There was one featuring Areatha Franklin, one on hammond jazz, one on Dave Brubeck, Dizzie Gilespi ect were can I track a copy of these now? any info please Try http://www.gemm.com for used records.
The series seems to have been published by CBS ca.1983-1985. I found these titles that may be part of the series:
Big Bill's Blues - Big Bill Broonzy ( photo for reference: http://www1.gemm.com/item/BIG--BIG--BROO... )
Satch Plays Fats - Louis Armstrong
Harry James and His Orchestra, featuring Buddy Rich
Jumpin Jive - Cab Calloway
Summertime - Sarah Vaughan
Jazz & Cinema
Hope you can find the rest of them! |
