I've heard this on a smooth jazz station. Male singer. The beginning is instrumental and sure sounds like it's going to be "stormy" from the '70's. The lyrics repeat the phrase "just a little" often, such as "Stay with me, stay just a little". Also a part kinda like, "love might hurt, it hurts a little when it's done right" or something of that sentiment. This may be a long shot but is it 'I'm Still Waiting' by Jodeci. There is a Jazz version of it and its from the early 90's. Check it out below
