I'm new listening to reggae but I like it, the thing is that I want something fresh, but I dont' know where to start (besides B.Marley) but I would appreciate some help. Listen to a band called Jazz Jamaica, listen to some of the early reggae done at studio one a lot of the early reggae (ska and rock steady) was instrumental and basically a jazz solo played over a reggae rhythm (fantastic) Listen to some early prince buster, Winston Francis, Toots and the Maytals, Burning sprear, Dennis Brown, Matumbi, John Holt, Greggory Issacs, Twinkle Brothers, Sugar Minnott, Jimmy Cliff, Jacoub Miller, PeterTosh, Pluto Shevington, Third World,Delroy Wilson, I could be here all day Reggae is my favorite music im also a big Jazz fan and Jazz musician but the reggae music just does something to my soul that nothing else does. Hope i may have been of some use i can mention many more if you want me to. so SOJA isnt fresh? well what about hawaiian reggae roots vibes.. killahs down here, ooklah, inna vision.. you should try listen to some nasio fontaine, or misty in roots.. groundation is still great, don carlos is always a good vibe. you said your new to listenin to reggae n you want some fresh riddims but you shouldnt be looking for new reggae. learn the roots my braddah.. theres more to reggae than bob, but hope you find some jams.. journey safe aloha |
