I only just heard Joe Zawinal died? RIP. Anyone fill me in ?

I'm gonna play "Mysterious Traveller" right now as this hell of a thunderstorm comes a-rumbling down....Crazy weather here..sideways rain,big hail and abnormal heat..Weird..even the cane toads are quiet..

I was once fortunately "forced" by a friend to borrow his Weather Report CD collection. Fine musicianship there for sure.

Yeah, I heard that too.A great leader in jazz of all types. I loved him with the Cannonball Adderly sextet. And Weather Report. My favorites that he wrote were Walk Tall and the Boogie Woogie Waltz.

Sadly yes; he will jazz in heaven for sure for Our Lord pleasure.

I remember hearing that he was hospitalized back in August, but I hadn't heard the latest.
I've always been a huge fan of his music. I'm going to play 'Mysterious Traveller' and 'Sweetnighter' this afternoon and have a drink in Mr. Zawinuls memory. Those are two of my favorite Weather Report albums.
What a tragic loss, Very sad indeed.

I had read in Down Beat Magazine that the legend Joe Zawinul was sick and in the hospital in his home town Vienna Austria once again I had the pleasure of seeing him in the Miles Davis band going way back to the late sixty moving into the seventy and now its the Weather Report Band and after that band The Zawinul Syndicate what a great musician and could he play that synthesizers, electric piano and whatever. He will be miss in the world of jazz. Good bye Joe!
