What eould you suggest as a good lead/high note mouthpeice for trumpet? Test drive some JetTones. it all depends on how you lip, i have thicker lips so i use a more shallow cup, Schilke 14A4A is what i use, it does me pretty well, triple b on a good day. it all depends on ur lips. my lips are thick, but ive only been playin for 5 years, so i now use a 5b. but for u, mabe 14c?? There are many good ones. The Schilkes are good and not too expensive. The 13A4A and 14A4A are good but you need to be a fairly decent player to play it well. Also, the Yamaha Bobby Shew Lead is good, Marcinkiewicz Vax 12.2. As others have said, it really depends on your chops. Ther are lots of others. The ones I mentioned aren't too expensive and pretty good. I use a Bach 3c for everything,(jazz, legit, pop, rock) it has an open throat and back bore- nice warm sound- no back pressure! |
