Help with jazz music needed?

i haven't been much of a jazz enthusiast but i need to know artists that have a swingable beat to them, something reminiscent of the musical style of Chicago (film) or any jazz beat that i can dance to? Most of my albums are of Anita O'Day, Ella and Ellington, a bit upbeat, but i need something with more pizazz. I'd prefer something from female vocalists. Thanks for your help.

Billie Holiday from the 1930s, backed by Basie's men (but not the Count himself, who was signed to another label; Teddy Wilson mostly subbed in suitably).

Sarah Vaughn is also a good vocalist whose career spanned decades of worthwhile material. She had such great tone to her voice and perfect pitch.

Blossom Dearie is a special favorite of mine and also a fine pianist. I melt when she sings a song in French.

Others you may enjoy: Dinah Washington, Abbey Lincoln, Karrin Allyson, Nancy Wilson and Cassandra Wilson.

Happy listening!

I can't help you because you mentioned MY type of jazz.

you probably would do best looking for some of the old show tunes from the swing era, the classic is Liza Minelli's New york, New York, but there's ton's like it,
try looking trhough the Rodgers and Hammerstein catalogue, I'm sure you can find it on line.
