The groups were phenomenal, from the Allman Bros, already established stars, to Billy Joel, still a warm-up band. People played from early morning, Dr. John and J.Geils Band, excluded, till the next day, jazz flutist, Herbie Mann and Alice Cooper. There was once a recording of festival highlights, mostly single songs by each band, though Jonathan Edwards got more than one song. Is "Mar y Sol" available on CD? (It was originally an Atlantic recording.) Hi! I found the LP's... it's listed on a few CD sites as 'unavailable' discography. Can't you convert the LP to CD on your PC? It's better than nothing:)

http://www.mmguide.musicmatch.com/album/... I used to own that double record! I remember the Mahavishnu Orchestra's blistering recording of "The Noonward Race". Allmans were great, I don't know if it's on CD but I want it again.
Star to you for jump starting my memory. What a great LP, covering all sorts of music. I envy you for having been there. |
