Where did the utah jazz get his name from?

the utah jazz used to be the new orleans jazz before moving to utah. they were called new orleans jazz for thr obvious reason. new orleans is famous for its jazz.

Happy you asked friend, you see, I love the Jazz. The team was originally the New Orleans Jazz, but due to owner Sam Battistone's unhappiness in New Orleans, moved to Utah in 1979.

The Team was formed in the early 70's as the New Orleans Jazz (makes a whole lot more sense, since they have a ton of jazz in New Orleans, and not so much in Utah ..... sort of like the Los Angeles Lakers which started in Minneapolis where they actually have lakes)
