It's a scale which goes from F to the next octive F using half steps.
F, F#, G, G#, A, A#, B, C, C#, D, D#, E, F
Chromatic just means that it goes in half steps.
Diatonic is your regular scale "Do, Re, Mi blah blah blah".

Here is the fingering for the F Chromatic in the Bb trumpet.
1=index finger
2=middle finger
3=ring finger
Open = no fingers depressed
