What are some good REALLY free-form Jazz musicians?

I'm talking about crazy, wild, fast, blazin' free-form jazz that i can buy on the iTunes store. I know John Coltrane is most well-known for this genre, but i can't seem to find any songs that are what i'm really looking for. could you name some artists for me?

I don't know who is rating all those answers with the thumbs down, but they're pretty good. HOWEVER...the craziest, jazziest man to ever play jazz is Rahsaan Roland Kirk. In a nutshell, we're talking multiple horns simultaneously, circular breathing for endless notes, flute, nose flute (simultaneously), clarinet, stritch and manzello (instruments he re-created out of old war-time horns). He is my favorite inspiration to play good wild music. And he's no gimmick!! He's not just playing 2 or 3 horns for the show of it...he's his own horn section. Please PLEASE check him out.

for John Coltrane, you should check the ablum Interstellar Space. Some artists are Archie Shepp, Ornette Coleman, Andrew Hill. check out this website: http://destination-out.com/
they feature free-form jazz artists.

Rashaan Roland Kirk,Eddie Harris,Charles Earland,Johnny Hammond.

Cecil Taylor and Elvin Jones did an album together, just drums and piano. If you can find it, get it. I have a copy someone bootlegged for me, I dont even know what it's called.

Very very late Miles, when he was doing extreme fusion, really free-form almost before he died. The CD he did in memory of Duke Ellington was one of those he started with. There's other musicians who are known for "free form", he's not necessarily one of them.

All the suggestions so far to your question are totally right on. I would just add, if you want some free-form, experiental avant garde stuff, it might not be jazz, but check out John Cage.

The Olatunji Concert: The Last Live Recording, John Coltrane, Pharoah Sanders, Alice Coltrane, Jimmy Garrisojn, Rashied Ali, Algie DeWitt, Jumma Santos is not to be believed. One performance is 29 minutes, the other is 35 minutes. It's on Impulse.

Albert Ayler
Sun Ra
Ornette Coleman
Coltrane after 1965
Cecil Taylor
Sam Rivers

Enjoy!!!

Try Anthony Braxton, Peter Brotzman, and Albert Ayler.

Eric Dolphy.

ornette coleman! wow is he crazy! and look for fred anderson too.

I like Eric Dolphy and Anthony Braxton. Albert Ayler makes my brain turn circles inside my head.

Cecil Taylor, Peter Brotzmann and Evan Parker.
You won't find anything that can be more free-form jazz than those three artists.

YEP, Roland Kirk.
