Jazz for Starters, any good Jazz songs or albums?

I AM not sure if it is really Jazz or some other kind of music, but I like the quiet, smooth trumpet and all the other instruments playing, Hmm, let me emphasize on trumpet.
Anything that has trumpet part in a song, from what I been taught, is categorized as a Jazz song. So I think it must be Jazz. I would love to dig in some Jazz; I have no clue to how and which I should first begin growing my interest with.
Any good Jazz album suggestion with Trumpet and NO,No humans singing, not that I am a misanthrope, but sometimes just let alone music is as well wondeful too.

- JAZZ ALBUM, ARTIRST, OR SONG NAME SUGGESTION!

THANKS!! :)

These albums that I am suggesting are easy to like. Yes, Charlie Parker and Dizzy were great, but not for beginners. These albums are perfect for all listeners, and they are all jazz classics. There is no good reason to limit yourself to just liking the trumpet. Here are some great trumpet, adn on trumpet albums.

Miles Davis Kind of Blue album. It's a great album for a beginner, and it's great even if you've heard a whole lot of jazz. Get it.

Thelonious Monk is another great and important master of jazz. I suggest that you start out with the Monk's Dream album.Monk swings the hardest of any jazz musician, in my little opinion.

Roland Kirk's album , The Inflated Tear really turned me onto jazz. I still enjoy it and respect it.

Grant Green's Matador album is a great album, centered around the guitar playing, although McCoy Tyner is at his best (piano player from Coltrane's band). It's another great album that's easy to like.

Wayne Shorter's album Speak No Evil is a great album that you really have to hear. I can't even talk about it. The whole band is amazing.

Herbie Hancock's album, Maiden Voyage is another great and easy to like album. Freddie Hubbard is at his best through the whole album (on trumpet, fluglehorn). It's a concept album, and it really does flow like the sea, as Herbie intended it to.

Horace Silver plays piano with soul. The songs are great and so is the band. Everything works on this album called Song For My father. It's another easy to like album too.

Please trust these suggestions. These are classic albums. They are accessible to any listener. These albums are the best place to start with.

Dizzy Gillespie was a trumpet master. You'd probably like his stuff... some have words some don't .

Another instrumental GOD was Herbie Hancock... he blurs alot of lines on genre but his early stuff is certainly jazzy and mellow. I reccommend his "Headhunters" album. (Be warned though, it's a little more electronic than the classics are.)

It's all opinion of course, but these would be two good ones to give a spin. Try Yahoo Music for some samples. There's more good stuff out there than alot of people think.

Hear "In The Mood" by glen miller and count basie, chick webb, miles davis, louis armstrong

john coltrane is a personal favorite of mine. his music often transcended anything that was ever played. very good stuff.

The best selling jazz album of all time is "Kind of Blue" by Miles Davis, so I would suggest you get that album. It also fits your desire for trumpet-playing since Miles was a master of great tone with simplicity. Every song on the album is amazing, but my favorite is "So What."

An amazing note about the album - every song was done in one take! Miles gave the musicians the sheet music that morning and they just went through and did the songs. Each of the musicians, obviously, was a master and it really shows in the results.

One of my favourite is Time After Time by Etta James.
She is fantastic. She plays with small groups of really good musicians who have lots of freedom.
Piano: Cedar Walton / Bass: John Clayton / Drums: Paul Humphrey / Guitar: Josh Sklair / Tenor Sax: Eddie Harris or Herman Riley / Trombone: Kraig Kilby / Fluegelhorn: Ronnie Buttacavoli.
Very sensuous album!
Blue Gardenia by the same artist is also excellent.

Herbie Hancock or Miles Davis are great players.
