Avante-garde/free jazz that isn't loud?

If you know of any Avante-garde/free jazz albums that are mellow, or at least not super loud and crazy please list it.

THANKS.

PS-It doesn't even have to be jazz, anything you think is in the same ball park is fine by me.

Maybe check out the Keith Jarrett american trio, (Survivor's suite is my favorite album of theirs). Does have some franetic sections but also some beautiful mellow sections as well.

If you like that you might be interested in some of Keith's solo concerts.

If you want some really avant garde stuff... try John Coltrane's A Love Supreme and Ascension .... The latter takes some getting used to, to say the least!
