uhmm...because they were the first people to go to the moon....they aspired to do their job and they conquered a goal that none other in the world had accomplished. They've inspired people all over the world to do whats been thought impossible. They're inspirations BECAUSE of that. Solely that. They've expanded the worlds horizons and opportunities. Next step? Mars. If we had never reached the moon, mars would certainly be impossible. Those who reach the red planet will be just as influential and the moon divers were.

Thanks to them, people all over the world pushed their limits, broke rules, and accomplished milestones they never thought they'd accomplish.
