What was the country (origin) that swing (swing jazz) was most popular?

I need to know where swing jazz was made or most popular.

Best answer will be awarded 10 points ONLY if you give a link to where you got your information. THanks! =D

As G.B mentioned the United States is the origin of jazz and that's where it is most popular.
Black musicians had a very tough time, they could play in white clubs but could not go there as guests.
A lot of musician when to Europe, France and England in particular, where there was no segregation. They where treated like human beings and their music very appreciated.
Canada was also a place they could play without any problems.

The United States, absolutely. From it's creole dixieland origins in early 20th. century New Orleans, to the large urban cities (primarily New York, Chicago, Kansas City, and later LA/Frisco [west coast jazz/swing] Jazz/swing is entirely an American creation.

The link is "in my noodle".........so I concede any possibility of a 10-point answer.

America. I found out on dancing with the stars the other day when Marie Osmund and her partner did the swing. The show told the history of the swing. It definatley had something to do with the military scene.
