Who is Ben Bernstein and trying to find a real name, relates to jazz???

Ok,
I heard this guy on this video i was watching in class.
He had to do something with rock and roll.

I believe his name was Ben Bernstein
or SOMETHING close to that..

he played like heavy jazz...
he was a REAL animal on stage...

if any music buffs has any clue of who I am
talking about, I'd appreciate it..

If the guy was playing the bass, he must have been Ben Bernstein, the Bay Area musician and singer-songwriter.
