This song starts with a trumpet playing various melodies, like When the Saints Go Marching in and Yankee Doodle Dandy? I might have some of this information wrong, so any help would be fantastic! Years ago I heard a dixie land band featuring Trumpeter Al Hirt playing a tune that fit's the description. So......at least we've validated that such a tune exists.
Unfortunately, I doubt that I ever knew the title - could have been a "jam session." I saw the performance on television -again- many years ago.
