I'm not sure which one to use .. a 7b mouthpiece or a 5b.. When I played trumpet I used a Bach 2b mouthpiece. A lot of it has to do with what the music instructor prefers.
They brand of trumpet is moot. I played a Selmer which is made in Parris, France.
Ask your music instructor which mouthpiece he would recommend. My music teacher told me to close my eyes and he would pass me different mouthpieces. Which ever one felt the best is the one I chose. How can a teacher tell you what you should use. It's really based on which mouthpiece fits your embouchure the best. Can you hit the high notes easier? Can you hit your intervals easier? These are the types of things you should be noting as you play test different mouthpieces. Good Luck |
