What scales/modes would work well over...?

a jazzy version of White Christmas with lots of maj7/min7th chords...there are a couple dominants so yeah any help would be much appreciated.

And any jazzy licks would be GREATLY appreciated.

And the song is in the key of C major by the way.

the pentatonic scale and blues scale...are very easy and unvaried for jazz...

something a little more exotic please.

thanks though

Believe it or not, the major scale will work fine. Throw in some chromatic runs and stay of the tonic.

pentatonic major will work also, but you lose the nice fourths.

You can also noodle around with the Lydian and Mixolydian modes for it ... but it just easier to think of the major scale with modifications for the secondary dominants as they appear in the score.

my best mate swears by blues scale for playing solos, but pentatonic scale is also good but hard to learn!

good luck dude!

Try the BeBop scale.
