Curious about Jazz Music???

After watching "That thing you do" (hey it was 4 am!!) at the end hearing piano, drums (or the lounge scene) it sounded pretty good - who would you reccomend in that area for a new listener? Singing is optional...

The only jazz related song I have now is Ella Fitzgerald doing Eric Clapton's "Sunshine of your Love"....

I ended up liking the movie too :)~

Wow ... a whole new world could open up for you. The fact that you are open to new style and genres is commendable. I actually liked that movie ... LOL. Tom Hanks film i think?

Anyway ... Many different styles within jazz. Most of what you hear on the radio is termed "smooth jazz" and is more like a blend of jazz and pop. If you are looking for jazz like the lounge music you heard in the movie, here are a few to google: bix beiderbecke, duke ellington, "jelly roll" morton, stan getz, dave brubeck, miles davis.

Hope you enjoy them!
