dose anyone know where i can get the alto sax music for the song "take five"? i have been looking every where and i can't find it.... this is my all time favorite jazz song so please help :)
even if there is some where i can just get the notes... i could figure out the rythems myself.
Thanks! I bought "The Paul Desmond Collection" from my local music store and it has a lot of transcriptions of Desmond's best known songs. It's around $20 but it's worth it. Try Amazon for more books.
Although I am against stealing music, you could always try a google image search. I found the full transcription of Take Five at the link below.
Good Luck! Hope this helps! Hope you enjoy the $100,000 fine for stealing an illegal copy. You don't think a publishing company would look for questions like this on Yahoo answers? Report It
If you buy "The Real Book" you get Take Five 400 other songs (yes, I took the list and saw how many are in the book, 401) that you can use for memorization and improvisation. It has the head (the main melody heard for the first minute or two of the song before Desmond goes into solos) and the chords underneath for improvisation. For any saxophone player who plans to perform jazz, "The Real Book" or "The Fake Book" are indispensable tools for them. A lot of college jazz bands actually use them literally as text books. They run about $30, but for all the songs, it's well worth it (7.5 cents a song).
You can also buy the sheet music for Take Five with piano accompaniment for $4.95, but why not drop $25 more bucks and get 400 other songs? |
