Can someone name some Classic Jazz bands?

Can someone name me some bands or classic jazz soloists?

I already know about Louis Armstrong, he's my favorite Jazz musician actually, and a few more but, can you guys name some classic Jazz?

Duke Ellington Orchestra and The Count Basie Orchestra are, hands down, the two greatest big bands in history. Also make sure to listen to Ella Fitzgerald; she and Louis made much of the jazz vocabulary we use today.

If you want some that might not be "classic" but, in my opinion, really epitomizes the meaning of real jazz, I recommend listening to the Ray Brown Trio with Gene Harris and Jeff Hamilton, and also almost anything Oscar Peterson.

Some great horn players to listen to are Sweets Edison, Clark Terry, John Coltrane, Charlie Parker, Dizzy Gillespie, Art Pepper, Wynton Marsalis, Miles Davis, Roy Eldridge, James Morrison, John Faddis, Terence Blanchard, Lester Young, and lots more.

Some more piano players, besides Oscar Peterson and Gene Harris, are Benny Green, Dado Moroni, Ahmad Jamal, Monty Alexander, and Bill Evans.
