any good jazz songs that are good for a soprano/alto? I need it to sing at a vocal festival in school and i need something where you can use your head voice more. anything good? Try "How High the Moon" Ella sings this one unbelievably... and it's sure to impress... especially the scat section.

The recordings a little rough, Ella's voice is normally crystal clear... I'd try to find a recording of the original.....if you get the original there's only one solo and it'd be easier to learn.
I'd recommend learning the exact scat solo from the original .... you'd knock the festival judge's socks off
If you want to sing it more in your head voice, you can take the tune up a few steps... I'm sure the jazz band arrangement for it is in a good key...
I've judged many a high school jazz festival and I've always wished an adventurous singer would try and take it on...
... Depends how good you are! If this proves a little challenging, or if you have trouble finding the original (it should be on itunes or amazon) try
