You want some real jazz? Listen to the Ray Brown Trio with Gene Harris and Jeff Hamilton. Also Oscar Peterson Trio. For big bands make sure you listen to Count Basie and Duke Ellington. I recommend Roy Hargrove for some of the great newer stuff, and Always listen to Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong for the classics.
