Any kind of jazz music Ella Fitzgerald, Aretha Franklin, Diana Ross, Frank Sinatra, Billie Holiday, Nat King Cole, Natalie Cole, Dusty Springfield (kind of, on the cusp between jazz and pop) miles davis, coltrane, diana krall, michael buble, chris botti, jamie collum, harry connick jr. Miles Davis, John Coltrane, "Cannonball" Adderly, Herbie Hancock, Chick Corea & Return to Forever, Billy Cobham, Weather Report, Mahvishnu Orchestra, Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington Here are some of my favorite! Modern Jazz Quartet (MJQ), Stan Getz, Chet Baker, Lester Young, Ben Webster, Gerry Mulligan, D'Jango Reinhardt, Miles Davis, Charley Parker, John Coltrane,... Art Blakey, Miles Davis, Bill Evans, Thelonius Monk, Charles Mingus, John Coltrane, Duke Ellington, Ella Fitzgerald, Quincy Jones, Ornette Coleman, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Weather Report, Jan Garbarek, Keith Tippet, Gianluigi Travesi, UMO jazz orchestra, Jason Rebello, Fred Hersch, Oscar Peterson. Boney James, David Sanborn, Kenny G, Tim Bowman, Paul Jackson Jr., Norman Brown, Larry Carlton, Jeff Golub, Warren Hill, I could go on and on(LOL). Also Karyn Allyson(sp?), Jane Monheit, Rosemary Clooney, Julie London, later Joni Mitchell(mid 70's and later), Linda Rhondstat(with Nelson Riddle Orchestra), Diann Shur, Basia(awesome polish gal from the 90's, pronounced Bah-shah), Astrud Gilberto, Hank Mobley, Lee Morgan, McCoy Tyner, Wayne Shorter You want some real jazz? Listen to the Ray Brown Trio with Gene Harris and Jeff Hamilton. Also Oscar Peterson Trio. For big bands make sure you listen to Count Basie and Duke Ellington. I recommend Roy Hargrove for some of the great newer stuff, and Always listen to Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong for the classics.
