Anybody know the song "Fever"? |
Does any know who originally sang this song? "Fever" Peggy Lee. Peggy Lee. I believe. Holy Crud! I haven't thought about that song in like forever!!! It was originally sung by Peggy Lee. Peggy Lee and now it's playing in my head! It's by The McCoys Yeah, Peggy Lee it is, but don't forget to listen to the Natalie Cole and Ray Charles Duet from Ray's last CD. That whole CD of Duets is awesome. I Don't know of anyone before "Little Willie John" 1956. As the guy above me said it was "Little Willie John" technically, but additional lyrics were added later for the Peggy Lee version that is most widely known and as a rule the song as it is known in it's jazz/standard version is thought of as a Peggy Lee song. Little Willie Johns version was more or a rhythm and blues song and doesn't really sound the same. Little Willy John had the first recording of the song in 1956 - It did chart, but it wasn't until Peggy Lee recorded the song in 1958 that it became a huge hit. Oh Yaaa...the first version was by the sultry Peggy Lee. .....and even Elvis did a cover of it...... Peggy lee i think Little Willie John did the original (as mentioned), not Peggy Lee. |
