Plunger mute?

Can you just take the end off a plunger and use it as a plunger mute?

Well, I'd be buying a new one.

I have 3 plunger mutes, 1 metal , 1 from a music store and 1 that is a plunger from Home Depot. The Plunger form Home Depot has the best sound. If I weren't required to have the other two for Bands, I wouldn't have them. Go with the cheap one.
