ok so my friend and i are doing a campaign to save the sponges as a joke. i need to know some famous sponges in books, songs, movies, or anything else. i know theres spongebob, but i was wondering if there are any others

Uh, nope. Just one famous sponge. Most sponges aren't very popular. And, now don't tell anyone this, but no other sponges have eyes or a mouth. So it's kinda hard for them to get noticed.

Unless you count Elaine's contraceptive sponges in that episode of Seinfeld.

There is a contraceptive sponge called the Today Sponge.
The sponges were taken off the market many years ago because they were not very popular. On the Seinfeld TV show Elaine Benis bought a stockpile of the sponges before they were discontinued and she had to deem a partner "spongeworthy" so she wouldn't waste one of her sponges on a partner that was not "spongeworthy" Watch the episode if you can - it was very funny.
