How do you send a magazine to someone in prison?

I know someone who is in prison and told me to find out if I can send him a magazine. I want to make sure he receives it. Does anyone know if there is restrictions or a process that should be done in order for someone to receive magazines in prison?

I used to work in a juvenile prison. Make sure there's no staples in the magazine and that the content is appropriate (if you know what i mean)

Either bring it to him when you go visit and the guard will just scan it to make sure there's noting hidden.
Or just send it by mail.

Prisoners can receive subscriptions but they have to be prepaid - they cannot receive bills. Make sure that you have the address including prisoner number exactly right. If they have to do anything extra to deliver it - they won't do it - they will send it back.

Often subscriptions get taken and don't make it to the prisoner.
