My daughter Lilly?

Lilly is 13 and she loves magazines. I let her read US weekly and gossip mags. The media is terrible these days... and i don't want her to get bad ideas from them! Is there any magazines you parents recomend for her?

I am not a parent but I think magazines like Teen People (if they even have that anymore) and those little tween pop mags like BOP! and whatever they are called. They also have Cosmo Girl and Elle Girl. I also think they have a Teen Vogue. Some of these are magazines I read when I was a teen.

i am a by product of every possible teen people, seventeen, teen vogue, cosmogirl, etc...magazines and tabloids are really not what you should be giving a 13 year old girl to read. even now, having graduated to the "adult" versions of all those magazines, i look at them and wonder why i waste my time. research shows that magazines are the most influential factors in creating eating disorders and body dismorphia. if you really think about it, those magazines provide absolutely no guidance, morals or values. there's enough crap out there without your giving it to her. i promise she will find it without your help. give your daughter something to THINK about. have her read. i wish i was given a book or two growing up. there is PLENTY of age appropriate material at your local book store. stories about other 13 yr old girls and their lives...fictional or not. give our future somewhere else to go other than straight into the ground.

Cosmo Girl, Seventeen, Teen Vogue, GL, Tiger Beat, J-14, and others. I'm not a parent, but those are appropriate magazines for her age.
