Cna some one tell me a "proffesional like", FREE photo editor?

Im so tired of these like kinda good free photo editors, that all they can do is little stuff. I've looked around on the internet and i find good websites, but my pictures still don't look that great, or proffesional like, theres this one girl who's pictures on myspace look like they could be in the cover of a c.d., or in a magazine, and shes not even that pretty, she just has a great photo editing thing, most likely photo shop. I don't wanna have to pay alot of money, before i explore a little bit around the internet, for something, that could be alomst the exactly the same and i may not have to pay a dime. Can someone tell me a site? Thank you! :]!

theres some feature u have to pay for, but all the other are free. just click "try it" everytime.
and the other is picasa.
theres some more but i dont remember, i dont have anything in mind at the moment. oh and the other one is "photo toolkit"
