Is movie "Da Vinchie code" complete fiction or there is some truth in it?

Well ... there IS a glass pyramid at the Louve and I've been to Roslin Chapel. There are hundreds of folktales, myths, and legends about Mary Magdalen, and the Holy Grail from much earlier than the publication of "The Da Vinci Code".

Most fiction is based on combinations of fact, folktales, myths, legends, real persons but since it IS fiction, it it really doesn't matter, does it?

It's DaVinci and it's just a book. Yes it's fiction. The guy did some research, but it's just based loosely on fact.

The idea actually had been told to the writer of Da Vinchie code" by the worker from St Petersburg (he works in the famous Hermitage museum there). I cannot remember details but it was slightly different from the book

The Da Vinci Code is an adaptation of a novel by Dan Brown. Brown weaves facts from history into his fictional story to make it sound more believable. I think that's why so many people wonder about it.

The Discovery channel did an investigation which is still being run on their station called the Da Vinci code revealed. It actually proves that it is based on lies and that Brown knew they were lies. That's why he quit giving interviews.

There is some truth to the movie but most of the movie is someones opinion.

There is SOME truth. But NO ONE knows for sure where or what the Holey Grail is. But the things they say about the symbols and Christianity are true. I had to research this for my French3 class, since the movie was set in France. And we took a trip to france I saw the painting of the 12 people (i forget what they are called) sitting with Jesus, one is actually female, and was pregnant.

Go to the library and pickup a copy, you'll find it in the fiction section, open the first page and you will see the words this is fictional.

The Da Vinci Code is complete fiction. The movie starring Tom Hanks was based on the novel by Dan Brown. The book IS fiction although some think it's fact.

dan brown says its completey fiction and since he is the author i would trust his word......

Not only is it fiction, but the author lies in his claims that it is based on genuine historical documents.

I understand Dan Brown made claims that the book is based on fact. If that is so, then Bible-believers everywhere should have cause for a major class-action lawsuit for libel.

Movies (and books) like this always do damage to those who are vulnerable, but if Dan Brown made the claims I've heard he did, then he took his to a new level by claiming the documentation cited in his book are genuine. I understand those claims are entirely false.

Tiny little bits of truth, but mostly half-truths, misdirections & bare faced lies. I'm a Freemason & the book really irritates me.
