Does Robert Neville die in I am Legend? (Spoilers: Dont Answer if u haven't seen the film)?

The reason why I say this is because I heard that a script might be made, for a sequel. Also, I think its really weird to kill an awesome character like Robert. I mean, even though he sacrificed himself with the grenade, do u think if they make a sequel it might show he survived the explosion somehow? Anyway, all answers are appreciated!

yes, what happens is that the "Creatures" finally get to him and he pulls out a drawer and lookes at a picture of his wife and daughter (and smiles) for like 4 seconds then he puts the picture away and grimices at the "Creaturs" and pulls out a kinda old looking hand grenade and pulls the saftey pin and runs into like hundreds of the "Creatures" and they all blow up, including will smith (robert neville) but it does have a happy ending hope i helped!

I dont know how he could have survived that. It was a grenade in a little room. They said at the end he sacrificed him self for the greater good of humanity

Yeah he dies, But maybe if there is a sequal they'll show how everything happened.

In the movie they explained how it happened and showed some clips but nothing big.

yea he dies, it was really sad, but thats why it it is called I am Legend. He spent 3 yrs. everyday trying to find a cure for this disease, etc...there's alot more to it, they explain in the movie very well. I'm not going to tell u anymore, dude u really need to see it, it has a lot of meaning behind and is an excellent movie... two thumbs up from me
