New question about "I Am Legend"?

What was that stuff in the squirt bottle Neville keeps spraying in front of the door and on his clothes. I am assuming it keeps zombies away but I don't remember them describing it.

I don't really know, but it left a stain on my Victoria Secret :P

It was some substance that keep things from being contaminated or having any symptoms of being infected and he also put it on his jacket after that battle in the house or with those dogs so he wont be infected or close 2 being so pretty smart of trying 2 stay alive. We just saw the movie this afternoon. It was vinegar. I guess the acid smell of it kept the "night seekers" away. Or it may be that it covered the smell of Will Smith & the dog Samantha.

Vinegar. It covered the human and animal scent so the zombies could not tell that they were there.

In the original novel, there are scientifically plausable reasons why Vampires are repelled by "Holy" water and garlic etc. This appears not to be explained in the film and or left on the cutting room floor.
