Silent Hill Movie?

Ok, so I understand that the mother and daughter are trapped in an alternate dimension and the town was burned or something to get rid of the little possessed girl or whatever. Anyway, I wanted to know why there was that siren that went off every so often and then everything went dark and crap grew all over the walls. And then why did the pyramid head guy come out? And why did the people in the church hate them? And what were those nurses doing there that were blind and they moved weird? And why'd that pyramid head guy skin the little school girl for no apparent reason? It has been a while since I've last seen it so if there's any other mildly confusing detail that you could explain for me that would be great. Thanks

1. the town was NOT burned to get rid of Alessa Gillespie, they were only burning her. the town was destroyed by the coal fires burning under the town.

2. the siren, like it was already stated, was pretty much a warning for when the darkness was coming. and the darkness was the world in which Alessa lived. it was a world filled with her hate towards the people who did what they did to her.

3. Pyramid Head was like Alessa's right hand man. he set out to destroy the people that hurt her.

4. hate who? Rose and Cybil? if that's who you mean, it's because they were not from the town and after finding out that Rose's daughter was the likeness of Alessa, well, that's pretty much self-explanatory. if not - they thought Alessa was the devil's child. this is why the tried to "cleanse" her with fire. Rose's daughter was the likeness of Alessa, therefore, Rose was evil in their eyes.

5. the nurses were like protectors. they moved weird because they're dead. they were there because her world also represented the hospital in which she spent most of her life after being burned. there were nurses in the hospital...you do the math.

6. there was no "little school girl". I believe you were referring to Anna. and he didn't do it "for no apparent reason". she was one of the townspeople and a member of Christabella's cult (but then again everyone in the town was a member of the cult). therefore, she was seen as one of the people who hurt Alessa, whether she was actually at the cleansing or not. she was the one that didn't make it into the church in time, so therefore she was the one that was punished. the same thing would have happened if it had been Rose or Cybil.

and about not being related to the game Silent Hill 2, that statement is incorrect. a number of things were taken from Silent Hill 2 such as the bed-ridden Alessa. she mirrors the final boss from this game. also, Pyramid Head and the Patient Demon (the armless creatures) were from Silent Hill 2.

To scare you sh*tless!

Play the games. They are a million times better than the movie. I was REALLY dissapointed by the movie because the games have such a wonderful spellbinding storyline. But I guess as far as game movies go it's pretty true to the game.

The whole problem with the movie is that they tried to put all of the games in one movie and Silent Hill has absolutely positively NOTHING to do with Silent Hill 2. it has different characters with an underlying sexual them, thusly why Pyramid Head is there.

Oh and CHERYL had a FATHER not a mother as a main character in the first game. *sigh*

But I guess it could have been worse. It could have turned out like the Resident Evil movies. *double sigh*

the movie just resembles the playstation game, they had all of that stuff in the game, so they had to make the movie like the game

If you really want to understand the movie, watch it again WITHOUT playing the game. I haven't played the game so the movie was good. It has been a while since I watched it too, so don't have answers to your specific questions, but the siren was a signal that the "evil" was coming and to get inside the church.

ok so the movie was quite different from the game (like the
resident evil), though i haven't played silent hill, friends of
mine who does play the game seem quite disappointed with
the movie (though the effects were good, the story was a
fuzz).

This is my conclusion on some of the unclear parts of the
movie.

i have concluded that the siren was actually a warning sign
for the believers to go to the church because they believe
that their faith would save them (which was actually the
opposite coz' their beliefs were all wrong, a misinterpretation
of faith) The siren was actually a symbolism of the fire which
had actually burned down the town 20 or 30 yrs ago. It was
like a continual replay of the actual event which had happened
when the city was burned down.

the pyramid head guy in the film, as to what i see, was actually
a symbolism of wrath, and the monsters who appears each
time the siren rings were the people or children who were
burned like the young girl. the difference was that they didn't
survived and became monsters instead, however, the girl's
hatred for those who burned her was great that it eventually
created a sort of another personality. And the goal of that
was to avenge the girls fate.

hope it somehow helped...
