What was so great about the 90's?

i was born towards the end of the 80's but i'm in love with the music. when u look back there are tons of legends, but i can't think of one great person looking back at the 90's

Nirvana is the biggest one of the 90's that people remember and still talk about - the whole Kurt Cobain thing.

The music of the 90's was kinda blah, everyone started doing more grunge music and generic rock. The 80's stands out more because you had pop, alternative, heavy metal, hair bands...etc. The music scene seemed to be more varied. Now in the 2000's it's varied again. I don't know what happened in the 90's. Not that memorable. I totally agree with you on that.

Just about everything was perfect!

- Tv was better
- Music was better
- Girl bands were good
- Boy bands were good too!
- CBBC was better
- You could get away with wearing dodgy clothes
- Clubs were working class places
- Christmas' were better somehow (less commercialised and not shoved in your faced)
- Streets were safer from pedo's etc
- No/little political correctness
- No chavs, just gangs
- Toys were better
- Lego was at its peak!
- Innocence
- No mobile phone addiction
- Internet was rarely heard of
- Rarely did families have spoilt brattish kids (middle class)
- Girls weren't wearing make up by the time they turned 11
- Schools weren't plagued by ethic minority correctness
- Tony Blair was doing a descent job for a few years
- Video games were better
- Everyone could wear baggy clothes!
- Top of the pops was great
- Some amazing and groundbreaking films (Casper, Terminator 2, Toy Story...)
- Premiership has less foreigners
- Ticket prices for football games were cheaper
- Cinema prices were impossibly cheap
- Britain still pumped out real indie/Brit pop music - not American MTV possessed dweebs with greasy hair wearing black clothes

But most importantly....

- It was a happy, free time :o)

I don't get it either.
