Why is harry potter and the order of the phoenix rated PG-13?

i still haven't watched the movie and we're going to buy the DVD tomorrow and i need to know if my little sisters and my brother should watch it. my sisters are ages 10 and 13 and my brother is 7. i know my brother is too young so dont even bother telling me he shouldnt watch it. but i need to know if the movie has any sexualitly in it or if its too scarey for my little sisters.

It has a higer rating because they are taking extra caution aka covering their a@@ because if some little kid gets freaked out, it would be there fault, this way, they are giving you a warning to say hey, if you know your kids is prone to getting scared, then it is at your own risk!. Other than that there is no sexuality could just be scary for some kids. I think your sisters should be fine, for the 7 year old, i'm not sure depends on how he is, but i've seen 5 year olds at the movie slient hill and were les scared than I was. Hope this helps you out.

Scenes involving violence and death.

My 7 year old son has watched it...its fine...

-Dont know.
-Never saw the movie.

It should say it on the back of the case. (Like "violence" or something.)

no sexuality
lord voldemort might be scary haha
there might be a little language but its not that bad

well it could be a little scary im 15 and i was freaked in some parts theres not sex or nething just a long kiss between harry and thiss other girl

I think the MPA if erred woudl like to er in the side of caution

No, there isn't sexuality in it but it was rated so high (as was Goblet of Fire) because there were some pretty wild scenes in there and some children might get scared. The 10 year old could watch it but she might get a bit freaked out if she hasn't read the books...

its about kids

no it just has rude humor....like snape....hes rude....my 3 year old brother watches it all the time

i would definetly let the 13 year old watch it. and it depends how mature the 10 year old is

voltemort is pretty creepy looking and stuff.

because it probably has violence

Yea somethin like scary scenes

haha scared my 6 year old cousin

"sequences of fantasy violence and frightening images".

valiance--you know how delicate--the kid's are

Scary scenes involving violence and death.

Oh, it's fine.
It's just a bit darker and violent than the last.
And Harry has a love interest, but there's really no sexuality scenes. Just a little sensual, if you could even call it that. <3

it's rated pg 13 for frightening images. i would say that if your 10 year old is mature, then she can watch it.

I think there may be a pretty steamy scene between a dragon and a phoenix, but I might just be confusing the movie with a weird dream I had...

The violence and the content are a bit much for young children. It is a scary movie for a kid! If they haven't been so numbed by violence and imagery yet. Normal kids it would seem frightening.

Sex & Nudity
EditHistory Harry and Cho do some brief, passionate kissing (which Harry later describes to Ron as wet).

Violence & Gore
EditHistory In the beginning of the film, dementors attack Harry and Dudley. They attempt to strangle both of them and suck out their souls. Dudley's face turns a ghastly white, but Harry performs a magic spell and saves him. The scenes where Harry is teaching students to fight in Dumbledore's Army, they perform sometimes violent spells on each other. Towards the end of the film, there is nonstop fantasy violence including some gore.

Profanity
EditHistory This film contains very few and very mild profanities.

Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking
EditHistory None

Frightening/Intense Scenes
EditHistory Voldemort and all other evil forces are incredibly terrifying and intense.

unless you guys have some restriction againts maghic you should be fine..
some religons dont belive in that kind of thing

of course a 10 and 13 year old an watch it. i'd say 7 year olds can watch it. i mean, yeah, there may be death and violence (from wands)...but i think children should know by now that wands and magic are fake and death happens. not scary.
if there was sexuality i'd say dont let them watch it, but there isnt so go ahead.

There is no sexuality,
It is just for mischief and some violence. ( I know in one of the movies, Harry makes out with some girl.. )
I watched it numerous times with my siblings ( aged 6 and 9 ) and the only things that scared them were the darker scenes, and the *BANG!*`s that came up occasionally.

They should be fine, just be sure to confirm with your parents that it is okay.

No sexuality at all!
Very little language maybe 4 words
Voldemort is scary SO frightening Images
And fantasy Violence because there is some
But thats it I think

No it won't be too scary for your little sisters
And the brother probably not because boys like that stuff
But it is a FANTASTIC movie I looooove them all

Harry and Hermirony have sex...yes.

Hermirony is knocked unconcious and Harry gets a hard one. So, Harry, now alone with an unconcious hot chick, whips out his "wand" and lifts up her skirt revealing her tight cu nt. He gently pushes his co ck deeper and deeper...until "POP" goes the cherry!!!

because its gets really violent and spooky and sirius dies thats why goblet of fire was pg-13 too, because cedric died.. those type of things could be scary for children

there's no blood(that woud be that scary)
Some violence
& a kiss
Herry has nightmers & is in bed(But he has p.js on)

if you go to yahoo.it shows harry potter and the order of the phoenix is pg-13 because of sequences of fantasy violence and frightening images.but they can watch it

Beats me, I don't understand why anyone over the age of 13 would want to watch it!
