As far as sheer acting talent goes, I think Johnny Depp is probably the best. He does nothing but challenging roles, and does a really good job at them. There aren't a lot of actors who could pull of Jack Sparrow or Edward Scissorhands.

Leo DiCaprio, who I never expected would amount to anything after Titanic actually proved himself to be quite a good actor. He was excellent in the Departed and the Aviator, but his best role was Catch me if You Can.
