Why do u think people all over the world crazy about HARRY POTTER?

no offence to harry potter fan, i just wanna get some opinion

Because it has such imagination. It brings out the kid in people. Who doesn't want to believe in magic?
wouldn't be fun to be able to turn someone into a ferret?

Because the world is filled with children, and...

Namby Pamby nerdy adults who have the literary and movie tastes of a soapdish...

Because they want to believe in something out from ordinary life. And for entertaintment.

Hmmm...I like the special effects in Harry Potter but I have failed to see why it is so popular. I guess it's up there with why did people vote for Bush a first and then second time.

Who knows? Probably for the same reason that so many people in the world think Britney Spears is a good singer. There's just no accounting for taste, I guess.

I don't know why people are "crazy" about them, but I like the books because they are pleasant to read when you had a horrible day at work and need to get away.

Harry Potter is popular globally because it creates a new world and describes an environment for imaginative escapism (eg Lord of the Rings). Plus it is a very easy book to pick up and you want to keep on reading. Plus the popularity of the book comes from clever marketing and having a successful book (top ten etc...) creates the opportunity for other people to put in the effort and read a book which will be guaranteed to be entertaining.
