What was the theme for flags of our fathers? |
and what was the overall message of the movie? Pretty much it was the way the goverment used the survivors of the Iwo jima flag raising for its own ends, propoganda ,patriotism and war bonds. And to try and get across a human side of the soldiers from Iwo,seperate from all the rhetoric. The authors dad was one of the men that survived ,and he wanted to show them from the human side rather than the medals and glory side...his other book Flyboys (no relation to the movie of same name)was a better book. I'd say its governments lie and use propaganda |
