What Do You Think of Violence On Children In Movies? |
I rarely see it portrayed. Why do you think that is? I think it's rarely shown because despite all you may see in films (e.g. rape, brutal murder etc.), when it comes to kids you can guarantee people will be shocked to a point of feeling sick everytime. if they weren't really hurt then what's the problem, I hate sensorship. I don't particularly like it, but then I have to remember that it's just a movie. At times though I think it is necesary for plot and character development. In many movies it is hinted at that children have been hurt or killed, but it's never showed. I think when it is showed though, it gives the audience a stronger feeling of anger toward the bad guys and a stronger urge for the good guys to win. When you are a parent your children being hurt is your worst nightmare. Unless you are a weirdo or sociopath. It is inconceivable to most people that a child get brutalized (even though it does happen daily around the world). If your parents die - you are an orphan, if your husband dies, you are a widow - there is no word for a parent who loses their child because it is not supposed to happen. The instinct to protect your young runs deep and it would outrage a lot of people. |
