Do u like the (athiest) movie the Golden Compass??? |
this movie was a book written by an athiest author and in the end they try 2 kill God. i just want your opinion on that who cares if it was written by an atheist he can believe whatever he wants to believe just like you and i can but that doesn't mean his not allowed to write a fantasy novel. if you don't want to watch then by all means don't watch it but i don't see any harm in it so i will be going to see it and unless you have read the books and know exactly what you are talking about then i don't think you have the right to comment. My opinion is that you haven't actually read the books (yes, books; there are three of them) yourself. My opinion is also that I'm pretty sure you haven't seen the film either. Okay seriously, have you even read the book? I am so tired of hearing from people that the book is about killing god, especially from people who haven't read the book or seen the movie! I went and saw the movie yesterday and it was really good. A great fantasy film (yes, it is a FANTASY!!!) that had NOTHING to do with god or religion or any of that. Plus the person who supposedly is "trying to kill god" is the evil one! If people would just get off their high horse and actually take the time to read the book or see the movie and get over the fact that the author is an atheist, they will see that it is a good story about the struggle between good and evil and has nothing to do with god or religion or atheism. can't kill something that doesn't exist obviously you haven't read the books or you'd know that they don't kill god. they kill his power crazed regent and then god dies of old age because he isn't what he claimed to be. and THAT doesn't even happen until the last book. um your completely wrong. the movie is actually a new look at religion, the guy who wrote the book is egnostic, there not trying to kill god, the books are vaguely (for metaphorcal use) based of the old testament. i loved them, and cant wait to see the movie. Uhm, It's certainly your right to exercise your Freedom Of Stupidity. However, Clive Barker is a great author. Clive Barker is gay. 'Hellraiser' was NOT a 'gay' movie! The author of 'Golden Compass' may be an atheist but unless he's writing his auto-biography then it has nothing to do with his creativity. I'm not saying to go or not go to this movie. I'm just saying they have the freedoms to make it and we should ALL fight for that! It's the same freedoms that allow me the luxury of NOT going to see it. ;P I am so tired of hearing about this. |
