Who else loved Barry Lyndon?

I usually have trouble laboring through long movies, but this one was so absorbing from start to finish. What are your opinions on the film?

I totally agree! I knew nothing about the film before I watched it, except that it was a Kubrick movie. For some reason, I thought it was going to be a movie about a politician!

I, too, was completely absorbed, and the time just flew by. I think it's because Kubrick was so meticulous with every detail and concerned about making it feel authentic, and he succeeded. Because it was so seamless, we felt like we had been transported to his time and were flies on the wall watching intriguing human drama unfold.

Loved it.
