What's up with this?????

Why is there people that don't like the golden copmass I haven seen it but i've heard lots of rummors about it
what is wrong??

The Amber Spyglass, the final book of the His Dark Materials, involves a battle between god and men.

The Golden Compass depicts the Catholic Church as an evil organization, and protests Christianity and organized religion.

However, the movie was watered down, but people still protested. Hope this clears up why this was unclear for you.

The end is the problem....
It ends like Harry Potter the 2 last ones.
Meaning the story is not over and leaves you with lots of questions.
I don't understand why people make movies like these....Then you end up having to wait 2 years to infinity to see a sequel.If you are lucky the books are out and you can just read those.
Eragon was another movie of that type.

I thought it changed too much from the book and I was especially pissed off that they had the nerve to cut the ending off!!! Apparently they are going to add the ending to the second movie!!!

A lot of religious people are against the movie because of the book the movie is based on. The Golden Compass is the first book in a trilogy written by an atheist. In the last book the little girl kills a character that is basically based upon God but turns out not to be God in the end. People are boycottinng the monvie because they believe that the children will want to read the books also. And then it could cause a lot of conflicts in the households.

The children are helped by animal spirits called daemons (demons).

Because its by an atheist who says the theme is children killing god or something. but if people would stop b*tching about it and making such a big deal then kids wouldnt even realize that that is what its about. It was a really good movie be the way. I liked it very much.
